Spring League Information

Every March, the Rockville Ice Arena organizes a spring high school hockey league. The main goal for this league is for rising Freshmen to get familiar with their potential high school team.

The season runs for 8-10 weeks March - May (no games over spring break). All games are played at the Rockville Ice Arena.

• There will be at least 9 games, plus playoffs (4 teams).
• Players may have to play a minimum of 4-5 games in order to qualify for playoffs.
• There will be at least 1 game a week, but possibly 2. There are NO practices.
• Games can sometimes be scheduled for right after school (3:45); some are later in the evenings (usually not later than 9:00).
• Players are not expected to attend all games: we understand there are conflicts with other spring sports, school programs or jobs; getting to the rink early can be challenging. All we ask for is good communication regarding player availability.
• This league does not allow checking (strongly enforced); slap shots are allowed.
• This league is more relaxed than the regular season so you should expect to HAVE SOME FUN!

To make things official, in late February/early March we will ask for the following information:

• Fill out a waiver for the Rockville Ice Arena
• Fill out a registration form to join the team 
• We are limited to 20 skaters and 2 goalies. 
• The cost per skater is calculated based on the number of players (it is usually in the range of $250-400).
• Players must be paid-in-full in order to be added to the roster and get on the ice.
